Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback EV named 2027 Eco SUV of the Year
The 2027 Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback, a new all-electric crossover, has been named the ‘2027 Eco SUV of the Year’ by Green Car Journal (GCJ). This recognition follows previous accolades for Mitsubishi’s electrified lineup, including the Outlander PHEV.
Built on the CMF-EV platform shared within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, the Eclipse Sportback utilizes technical components from the Nissan Leaf. The vehicle is expected to offer two powertrain versions: a 177 hp model and a more powerful 218 hp version. Battery options include a 52 kWh unit providing approximately 436 km of range (WLTP) and a 75 kWh unit capable of reaching up to 602 km (WLTP).
While initial images and details have been released by Mitsubishi Motors North America, a confirmed launch for the European market has not yet been announced.
