Mitsubishi Electric Becomes Presenting Partner of Women’s Rugby WXV Global Series
Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. has extended its partnership with World Rugby, becoming the presenting partner of the WXV Global Series and its Challenger competition. The agreement covers the 2026‑2028 period, during which 18 national teams will contest more than 100 matches across a home‑and‑away, cross‑regional format.
The partnership builds on Mitsubishi Electric’s earlier involvement with women’s rugby, including UK‑based collaborations with Premiership Women’s Rugby and the Rugby Players’ Association’s Thrive programme. World Rugby and Mitsubishi Electric say the arrangement will boost the sport’s visibility, fan engagement and commercial growth, while providing a global platform for the athletes.
World Rugby’s Chief of Women’s Rugby, Sally Horrox, praised the company as an “outstanding partner” during a “transformative period for women’s rugby”. Hans‑Joerg Hinkel, General Manager, EMEA Head of Communication at Mitsubishi Electric, said the role was a natural extension of the firm’s commitment to the game.
