Mitsubishi Electric develops OT security solution for industrial equipment
Mitsubishi Electric has announced the development of a new operational technology (OT) security solution designed to strengthen the cybersecurity of industrial equipment. The solution leverages technologies from Nozomi Networks, a U.S.-based company that became a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric in January 2026.
The new solution will integrate Nozomi Arc’s monitoring capabilities directly into industrial equipment, including Mitsubishi Electric’s controller products. Key features include USB monitoring, malware detection, quarantine and removal, and software management. This integration aims to provide site-wide visibility and enable the early detection of abnormal behavior and threats within diverse OT environments.
The commercial launch is scheduled as an extension of Nozomi Arc during the fiscal year ending in March 2028. The development responds to increasing demand for cybersecurity in manufacturing and critical infrastructure, driven by digital transformation and regulatory requirements such as the European Cyber Resilience Act.
