Mitsubishi expands electric vehicle lineup with new SUV models

Mitsubishi is expanding its electric vehicle lineup through strategic partnerships and new model launches. The company has collaborated with Taiwanese technology giant Foxconn to introduce the Mitsubishi ASX VR-e. This SUV, derived from the Foxtron Bria and designed by Pininfarina, will initially launch in Australia. The high-performance GSR variant features dual electric motors producing 459 CV and 700 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.9 seconds.

Additionally, Mitsubishi is reviving the Eclipse nameplate with the Eclipse Sportback EV, a fully electric subcompact SUV expected to debut in the North American market around 2027. Developed through the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, the vehicle shares its platform and technical framework with the 2026 Nissan Leaf. While sharing core components, the Eclipse Sportback EV features unique aesthetic elements, including exclusive bumpers, distinctive LED lighting, and specific alloy wheels to differentiate it from its Nissan counterpart.
