Mitsubishi Fuso and Foxconn to launch FUSO BUS joint venture
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation and Foxconn have agreed to launch a new bus manufacturing joint venture, named FUSO BUS Co., Ltd., on November 2, 2026. The company will be owned equally by both partners, with each holding a 50% stake.
Headquartered in Kawasaki, Japan, the new entity will utilize the existing Mitsubishi Fuso Bus Manufacturing facility in Toyama for production. FUSO BUS aims to accelerate decarbonization in mobility and enhance public transportation by developing, manufacturing, selling, and servicing both internal combustion engine (ICE) and zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) for domestic and international markets.
Katsuto Kora, currently the head of Mitsubishi Fuso’s bus business, is designated to serve as Representative Director and CEO. Junichi Yamamoto will serve as CFO. The management structure will include several non-executive directors from both companies, including Foxconn’s Chief Strategy Officer for electric vehicles, Jun Seki.
The venture follows a previous agreement made in January 2026 and builds upon earlier reports of Foxconn supplying battery-electric bus platforms. The launch remains subject to necessary approvals from shareholders and regulatory authorities.
