Mitsubishi Motors and Dunlop Gear Up for 2026 Asia Cross Country Rally in Thailand

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced that its Team Mitsubishi Ralliart will compete in the 2026 Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) in Thailand from August 9 to 15. The team will run three Triton pickup trucks, aiming for a second consecutive overall victory. Team director Hiroshi Masuoka said the crew’s preparation has been refined through endurance tests, and drivers Chayapon Yotha, Katsuhiko Taguchi and Kazuto Koide are targeting stage wins and the overall title.

Sumitomo Rubber Industries (Dunlop) will supply its SUV tire "GRANDTREK" to two entries in the same rally: the three‑car Toyota Gazoo Racing Thailand squad and the newly entered Team TEIN (one vehicle). The tires have helped the Thai team win the overall championship in 2024 and finish second in 2025. The FIA‑approved AXCR, one of Asia’s largest cross‑country events, will start in Pattaya and finish in Pisanurok, with 79 entries expected across four‑wheel vehicles and motorcycles. Both manufacturers view the rally as a proving ground for vehicle durability and future product development, including Mitsubishi’s upcoming Pajero model.
