Mitsubishi previews new ASX VR-e electric vehicle and Pajero SUV

Mitsubishi has previewed the ASX VR-e, an electric version of its ASX crossover, in Australia. The top-spec dual-motor GSR variant features a 57.7 kWh CATL-supplied battery, a 328 km range, and a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.9 seconds. Other single-motor variants offer WLTP ranges between 380 km and 403 km. Designed by Pininfarina, the vehicle aims to compete with brands such as BYD and MG.

Additionally, Mitsubishi provided an off-road preview of the fifth-generation Pajero at a proving ground near Adelaide. The new model utilizes a body-on-frame construction based on a modified Triton chassis to balance off-road capability with on-road comfort. It is powered by an updated 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel engine and is expected to officially launch in Australia by late 2024.
