Mitsubishi unveils ASX VR-e electric SUV to preserve performance legacy

Mitsubishi has announced the ASX VR-e, a new electric SUV designed for the Australian market, as a way to maintain the high-performance legacy of the Lancer Evolution. The vehicle is based on the Foxtron Bria, developed by Foxtron Vehicle Technologies, the automotive division of the Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn.

Designed by Pininfarina, the SUV features Mitsubishi-specific chassis tuning and utilizes dual motors to deliver high performance. The flagship ASX VR-e GSR model is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Shunichi Kihara, Mitsubishi’s local director, stated that the company intends to preserve the brand's performance heritage, rooted in the Pajero and Lancer Evolution, through vehicles like the VR-e.
