Mitsubishi updates Momentum 2030 plan for US market expansion

Mitsubishi has updated its Momentum 2030 business plan for the United States, outlining a strategy to expand its domestic product lineup from four models to six by early 2027. The plan focuses on electrification, expanded product offerings, and a modernized retail model.

A central component of this strategy is Mitsubishi's re-entry into the North American pickup truck segment. The company is collaborating with Nissan to develop a new mid-size pickup, which is expected to utilize a platform similar to the Nissan Frontier.

Other confirmed additions to the lineup include the Eclipse Sportback EV, slated for a fall launch, and a rugged, off-road-focused version of the Outlander expected in the first quarter of 2027. Additionally, the company is preparing for the global debut of the Pajero (known as the Montero in some markets) on September 2, with potential future availability in North America.
