Mitsui O. S. K. Lines unifies management of 200+ vessels

Mitsui O. S. K. Lines (MOL) has completed the integration of six of its group ship management companies into a single entity, MOL Global Ship Management Pte. Ltd. (MOLGSM). This consolidation brings oversight of more than 200 vessels under a unified management structure.

The integration combines previously separate entities organized by vessel type, including LNG carriers and tankers, with operations spanning Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, India, and the United Kingdom. By centralizing safety and quality data, MOL aims to improve visibility into risk patterns and accelerate the implementation of safety measures across its fleet.

MOLGSM intends to utilize AI and data analytics to optimize operations and support the transition to emerging technologies, such as alternative-fuel vessels, in response to tightening environmental regulations and geopolitical risks.
