Mitsuoka unveils LA1 roadster inspired by classic Corvette

Japanese automaker Mitsuoka has unveiled the LA1, a new roadster that draws heavy design inspiration from the first-generation Chevrolet Corvette C1. The vehicle features retro elements such as dual round headlights, a wide grille, prominent chrome bumpers, and distinctive fenders that evoke the aesthetic of 1950s American classics.

While Mitsuoka has not officially confirmed the technical foundation, the LA1 appears to be based on the Mazda MX-5 (ND generation), sharing its proportions, doors, windshield frame, and convertible roof structure. This follows the company's previous pattern of using reliable mass-market platforms to create niche, retro-styled vehicles, such as the 2018 Rock Star model.

The official premiere of the LA1 is scheduled for November 26, with orders expected to open the following day. Full technical specifications, pricing, and color options will be released during the launch event.
