MIVED reaches record with RD$57 billion in construction licenses
The Dominican Republic's Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED) reported a record-breaking September, issuing 203 construction licenses. These permits represent an investment exceeding RD$57 billion, aimed at stimulating the national real estate sector through residential and commercial projects.
Minister Jean Luis Rodríguez stated that these approvals mark an unprecedented milestone for the institution, reflecting increased private sector confidence. The ministry is currently working under the ‘Zero Bureaucracy’ program to reduce permit processing times to a target of 30 days without compromising structural safety or quality standards. Annual permit totals show a growth of over 90% compared to previous periods, driven by developments in Greater Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.
