Mixed lease model benefits students and tourists in Pyrénées-Atlantiques

In the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of France, a “mixed lease” model is providing solutions for both students and tourists. This arrangement allows property owners to split rental periods: a longer term during the academic year for students and a more lucrative seasonal term during the summer for tourists.

The Pays Basque Agglomeration Community is acting as a pioneer for this mechanism. In Anglet, the local municipality assists by providing lists of available landlords to students in need of housing. This model aims to reconcile the often incompatible needs of student housing availability and the high demand for seasonal vacation rentals.
