Miyagi to host Mothra and Metal Hero pop-up stores

Two themed pop-up stores are scheduled to open in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, on August 29, 2026, celebrating major subculture franchises.

At the TSUTAYA Rifu store, a ‘Mothra POP UP STORE’ will commemorate the 65th anniversary of the iconic Toho monster. The event will feature original merchandise, including apparel such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, and caps, as well as stationery and acrylic stands inspired by the character’s history and the ‘Heisei Mothra’ trilogy.

Simultaneously, the TSUTAYA Sendai Ekimae store will host a ‘Metal Hero POP UP STORE’. This event celebrates the 30th anniversary of the ‘B-Fighter’ series, bringing together titles such as ‘Juukou B-Fighter’, ‘B-Fighter Kabuto’, and ‘Bee Robo Kabutack’. Merchandise for this event will include themed work shirts, baseball caps, and various collectible items like keychains and acrylic stands.
