Miyazaki Prefecture releases new vintage wines

The Miyazaki Wine Promotion Executive Committee has announced the simultaneous release of eight varieties of new wine, known as ‘Miyazaki Wine Nouveau,’ produced by four local wineries: Tsuno Wine, Gokase Winery, Unkai Grape Wine Brewery, and Miyakonojo Winery Farm.

Despite some rainfall during the growing season, producers reported that the grapes grew exceptionally well due to abundant sunlight and minimal typhoon damage. The new vintage is intended to be paired with local cuisine, such as Miyazaki beef.

To celebrate the release, the ‘Miyazaki Wine Expo 2026 & Autumn Gourmet Festival’ was held at Amu Hiroba in front of JR Miyazaki Station from October 16 to 18. The new wines are available for purchase at 78 locations, including Aeon and MaxValu stores across Kyushu, as well as Miyazaki Bougainvillea Airport.
