Miyazaki Prefecture to relocate Peace Memorial Exhibition Room

Miyazaki Prefecture has announced plans to relocate the Peace Memorial Exhibition Room to Building 5 of the Prefectural Government Office. The project is expected to be completed by 2028.

The current facility is located in the Prefectural Bereaved Families Hall in Miyazaki City, which is slated for sale due to aging infrastructure. During a prefectural assembly session, Governor Kono confirmed the relocation plan in response to inquiries from assembly member Yasuda. The Prefectural Bereaved Families Association, which has long advocated for the relocation and expansion of the facility, expressed relief at the news and hopes for enhanced exhibits to preserve the memories of war casualties.
