Miyu Yamashita wins CPKC Women's Open by nine strokes

Japanese golfer Miyu Yamashita secured a dominant nine-stroke victory at the CPKC Women's Open in Edmonton, Alberta. Playing at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club, Yamashita finished with a total score of 23-under 257, matching the LPGA Tour's 72-hole scoring record previously set by Sei Young Kim in 2018. Her performance also set new tournament records for the 36-hole and 54-hole totals.

Yuri Yoshida of Japan finished in second place at 14-under par, while American Gina Kim and South Korean Sei Young Kim followed closely. Canadian amateur Aphrodite Deng, 16, delivered a notable performance, finishing tied for seventh at 11-under par. Other top Canadian finisher Anna Huang tied for fourth at 12-under.

Beyond the competition, the tournament raised a record $4.95 million for heart healthcare in Alberta, with $4.4 million designated for the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation and $550,000 for the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation.
