Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma urges critical thinking at Assam university

On August 5, 2026, Mizoram Chief Minister Shri Pu Lalduhoma addressed postgraduate students at the Deeksharambh‑2026 induction programme of Assam Royal Global University (RGU) in Guwahati. He urged the students to use higher education to become compassionate, responsible and visionary leaders capable of meeting complex challenges.

Lalduhoma said universities should teach “how to think, not what to think,” fostering scientific temper, critical thinking, moral courage and public service. He praised Mizoram students as cultural ambassadors, noting their role in strengthening bonds among Northeastern states and national integration, and expressed condolences for families affected by recent floods in Assam. RGU chancellor Dr. A. K. Pansari highlighted the university’s international outlook, with students from 28 countries and a forthcoming convocation themed on Mizoram.
