Mizoram launches 'Made by Mizo' retail initiatives to promote local handicrafts
The Mizoram government is launching several initiatives to promote the state's handloom and handicraft products in both national and international markets. Chief Minister Lalduhoma recently inaugurated the 'Made by Mizo' kiosk in Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi, to serve as a retail platform for local artisans and entrepreneurs.
Established by the Mizoram Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd (ZOHANDCO) under the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises' RAMP Scheme, the kiosk provides a physical outlet for products also available on the 'Made by Mizo.com' e-commerce platform. The New Delhi location, established at a cost of Rs 71.41 lakh, will also function as a fulfillment point to speed up deliveries for online orders. ZOHANDCO plans to expand this model by establishing similar kiosks in Bengaluru and Kolkata.
