MJF addresses WWE competition and AEW rivalry

Professional wrestler MJF has addressed the ongoing competitive rivalry between All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and WWE. During recent media appearances, including the Sports Media Podcast, MJF commented on WWE’s scheduling tactics, suggesting that the company’s decision to counter-program AEW events—such as running shows in Chicago at the same time as AEW’s All Out—indicates a fear of AEW’s growing influence.

MJF cited the sellout of the Nassau Coliseum during AEW Worlds End 2023 as a key example, noting that WWE subsequently booked an event at the same venue. While he described these moves as “business tactics,” he characterized the direct competition as somewhat “funny” and “ridiculous.”

Beyond business strategy, MJF spoke about the culture of wrestling fandom, urging AEW supporters to focus on promoting the strengths of their own promotion rather than attacking WWE. He also shared his views on the industry, expressing a desire for more diverse in-ring styles to combat a perceived “homogenized standard” in modern wrestling. Additionally, he praised several AEW talents, including Nick Wayne, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis, for their unique contributions to the sport.
