MŠK Žilina signs Swedish defender Johan Albin
MŠK Žilina has strengthened its defense by signing 22-year-old Swedish defender Johan Albin. The player has committed to the Niké liga club with a contract running until the end of June 2029.
Albin joins from the Swedish second-division side Oddevolde, where he appeared in 20 matches and scored one goal since January. Club sports director Karol Belanič stated that the signing was a planned move to increase competition in the center of defense following the reassignment of Filip Kaša to the B-team.
Albin expressed enthusiasm for the move, noting the club’s reputation for developing young players and its success in the UEFA Youth League. He aims to integrate into the squad and contribute to the team’s pursuit of further success following their Slovak Cup victory last year.
