MLA Sharanagouda Kandakur warns officials over electricity and sand mining
Gurumathkal MLA Sharanagouda Kandakur has issued stern warnings to officials regarding electricity shortages and illegal sand mining in the Yadgir district.
Addressing JESCOM officials, Kandakur demanded solutions for frequent transformer failures and criticized plans to move a transformer repair center to Yadgir instead of Gurumathkal. He also warned against the harassment of farmers by electricity awareness squads during a period of monsoon failure. Officials noted that approximately 460 transformers have burnt out this year due to rain shortages and staff scarcity, with some officers managing up to 70 villages.
In a separate confrontation with district authorities, Kandakur addressed the rampant illegal sand mining and the use of overloaded vehicles in his constituency. He warned that if officials fail to stop these activities, he would take direct action, stating he would set the vehicles on fire and face any legal consequences. He highlighted that overloaded tippers are destroying newly constructed roads and provided documentation regarding the use of fake royalty receipts in sand transportation.
