Mladá Boleslav hosts 34th Conservators and Restaurateurs Conference

The 34th Conference of Conservators and Restaurateurs took place in Mladá Boleslav from September 22 to 24, 2026. Hosted at the Laurin & Klement Fórum ŠKODA Muzeum, the event featured lectures, poster presentations, and professional discussions regarding current topics in conservation and restoration.

The conference was organized by the Methodological Center for Conservation of the Technical Museum in Brno in collaboration with the Commission of Conservators and Restaurateurs of the Association of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic, ŠKODA Museum, the Museum of Mladá Boleslav, and the Czech Committee of ICOM, with support from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

Notable presentations included research by Anežka Hřebíčková and Doubravka Novotná on using 3D printing to supplement archaeological glass. Their work focused on a 13th-14th century glass chalice discovered during a rescue excavation in Prague, which is currently on display at the National Museum.
