Málaga and Deportivo La Coruña secure promotion to Spain's Primera División

Málaga CF clinched promotion to Spain's top football league after winning the playoff final, returning to the Primera División for the first time in eight years. Managed by Juanfran Funes, the club finished the season with only four losses in 32 matches and recorded strong home attendance figures.

Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña also earned promotion, sparking massive celebrations at the Riazor stadium. Fans stormed the pitch, causing extensive damage to the turf, seats and equipment, and prompting the State Commission against Violence to propose an €80,000 fine and a one‑month stadium closure. Additional penalties include a potential €200,000 fine and a two‑month closure for related clubs. The incident also led to a disciplinary case by the RFEF.
