Málaga celebrates bullfighting figures at Gala de la Tauromaquia
The Diputación de Málaga held the fourth edition of the Gala de la Tauromaquia at the Teatro Cervantes to recognize prominent figures in the bullfighting world. The event serves as a precursor to the 2026 celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the La Malagueta bullring.
Several awards were presented during the ceremony. Fortes received his fifth 'Antonio Ordóñez' Silver Sword award, while Antonio Ordóñez was honored posthumously, with Francisco Rivera Ordóñez accepting the recognition on his behalf. Other notable recipients included Diego Urdiales, who won the 'Paco Madrid' trophy for best charge, and Diego Ventura, who received the Francisco Mancebo trophy for best rejoneador.
Additional honors were awarded to David de Miranda for the III Málaga Taurina Trophy, and Victorino Martín received the award for best bull of the fair for the bull 'Borracho'.
