Málaga celebrates Gran Hotel Miramar centennial and bullfighting festival
The city of Málaga is celebrating significant cultural milestones, including the centennial of the Gran Hotel Miramar and the La Feria Taurina bullfighting festival.
During the bullfighting event at La Malagueta, bullfighter Fortes emerged as the standout performer, earning three trophies (two ears and a carry on shoulders) after a decisive performance against bulls from the Núñez del Cuvillo ranch. Other notable participants included Morante de la Puebla and Diego Urdiales, both of whom received ovations for their technical skill despite challenging wind conditions and bulls that lacked significant strength.
In parallel, the Gran Hotel Miramar is marking its 100th anniversary. General Director Mariola Valladores highlighted the hotel's historical importance to Málaga's business and tourism sectors, noting its evolution from a winter destination to a premier summer landmark on the Costa del Sol.
