Málaga celebrates La Malagueta's 150th anniversary with exhibition and bullfighting

Málaga is hosting a cultural series to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the La Malagueta bullring. As part of the celebrations, the exhibition 'Toro Bravo, guardian of biodiversity' has opened to the public at the Paseo de Cervantes. The free, outdoor exhibition features twenty large-format photographs presented by the Real Unión de Criadores de Toros de Lidia (RUCTL) and the Provincial Council of Málaga. The images focus on the ecological role of the fighting bull within the dehesa ecosystem, highlighting how extensive livestock farming helps maintain the natural landscape.

In related sporting events marking the anniversary, Manuel Quintana won the Andalusia Bullfighting Circuit. The final took place at La Malagueta, where Quintana earned ears from each bull in his lot through a display of resolution, despite challenges with the livestock's performance. The event marked the debut of the company Tauroemoción in a first-category arena.
