Málaga CF faces crisis ahead of Alavés match
Málaga CF enters its tenth match of the Primera División season without a single victory, currently sitting at the bottom of the league with four draws and five losses. Ahead of their upcoming away game against Deportivo Alavés at Mendizorroza, manager Juanfran Funes has addressed the team's struggles and the pressure surrounding recent signings.
Funes defended his players, noting that high expectations may have weighed on key figures like David Larrubia and Chupete. He also noted that several new signings have faced challenges due to late arrivals and injuries, including Jens Cajuste, who is only recently returning to full training. Funes has declined to judge the performance of the new recruits until the end of the season.
The squad is also facing significant injury concerns. The loss of Joaquín Muñoz to a muscular injury leaves the team with limited options in the winger position, leaving only Larrubia and Haitam as pure wingers available for the upcoming fixtures. This follows previous absences of players such as Juan Cruz and Julen Lobete.
