Málaga and Levante draw 0-0 after missed penalty

Málaga CF and Levante UD played to a 0-0 draw at La Rosaleda in a LaLiga EA Sports fixture. Despite controlling much of the possession, Málaga was unable to secure their first win of the season.

A defining moment occurred in the 9th minute when Málaga was awarded a penalty after Nacho Pérez handled a cross from Juan Cruz. Carlos Ruiz, known as ‘Chupete’, took the shot, but it was saved by Levante goalkeeper Mathew Ryan. A subsequent goal by Ruiz following the rebound was disallowed by the referee due to a foul on the defender.

Levante remained defensively solid throughout the match, absorbing Málaga's pressure and looking to exploit counter-attacks. The result leaves Málaga with two points after four matches, moving them off the bottom of the table.
