Málaga gastronomy expands with new restaurant openings and extended services

The culinary scene in Málaga is seeing significant developments with new offerings from prominent gastronomic figures. Trazo by Doña Francisquita, located at the Official College of Architects of Málaga, is expanding its weekend service to provide a continuous experience. On Fridays, the restaurant will operate uninterrupted from 9:00 to 1:00, while Saturdays will feature service from lunch through the late night. The establishment aims to leverage its garden terrace to offer a space for extended social gatherings and contemporary Mediterranean cuisine.

Additionally, Michelin-starred chef José Carlos García is opening a new restaurant in Málaga's La Malagueta district on September 28. Located on Calle Vélez Málaga, the new project, titled ‘Ahora, libre’, focuses on a more intimate dining experience with fewer tables and a closer relationship between the kitchen and guests. The menu will continue to emphasize Mediterranean flavors and local products, featuring a structure of appetizers, sea, land, and sweets. Lourdes Luque will manage the dining room and cellar for this new venture.
