A man was arrested in the center of Málaga following a stabbing that occurred in broad daylight on Monday evening. The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Calle Montes de Oca, near the El Corte Inglés area.
The victim sustained at least three stab wounds to his back and was transported by ambulance to a hospital for emergency surgery. Witnesses described the weapon as a makeshift skewer, approximately 15 centimeters long.
The suspect, a Colombian national who has been living homeless in a nearby construction site for approximately two weeks, was apprehended by National and Local Police after a brief pursuit. The arrest followed reports from a group of students who had been threatened by the man earlier that afternoon. According to the students, the suspect had threatened to make them bleed and threw a beer can at them before being deterred by a thrown beverage.
Police noted that the suspect had been involved in a prior altercation involving alcohol earlier that day and had attempted to change his clothes before being located by authorities.
