Málaga prepares for 2026 Feria with opening fireworks and horse‑rider access
The Feria de Málaga 2026 will run from 15 to 22 August, beginning with a pyrotechnic and drone display on the night of 14 August over La Malagueta beach. Daytime events will occupy the historic centre (Larios Street, Plaza de la Constitución and surrounding plazas) while evening festivities shift to the Cortijo de Torres fairground, featuring traditional and youth‑oriented booths, concerts, rides and food stalls. The fair is a major summer attraction in Andalusia, expected to draw hundreds of thousands of domestic and international visitors.
The Málaga City Council has opened the application period for horse riders (caballistas) and carriage (enganche) permits to access the Cortijo de Torres venue. Requests can be submitted online or in person until 22 August, after which a QR‑coded digital pass will be issued for each horse and carriage. Applicants must provide a valid ID, a signed declaration of responsibility and, if applicable, a representation authorization. The council also reminded that certain motorised vehicles are prohibited inside the fairgrounds.
