Málaga region advances urban infrastructure and parking projects

Municipalities in the Málaga region are implementing various urban development and infrastructure projects. In Marbella, the city council has approved a 15 million euro investment for San Pedro Alcántara. This project includes the construction of a 215-space underground parking facility and a 12,000 square meter boulevard in the Fuente Nueva area, scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.

In a separate matter in Marbella, controversy has arisen regarding the closure of access points to the A-7 highway in Las Chapas. Documentation indicates that the Marbella City Council granted municipal work licenses to Acciona Inmobiliaria to close access points 1034 toward Estrella del Mar and Golden Beach, despite claims of lack of notification regarding the closure.

Meanwhile, the Málaga City Council has activated over 650 new parking spaces across several districts, including Churriana, Teatinos-Universidad, Este, Puerto de la Torre, Centro, and Palma-Palmilla. These improvements, costing over 1.2 million euros, involve paving, lighting, and urbanizing various plots to enhance local mobility.
