Málaga region launches new city hall building and Alcaidesa Marina shopping complex

The Málaga City Council has begun construction of a new seven‑storey municipal headquarters on a waterfront site. The project includes three underground parking levels, a flexible office layout and a 220‑seat auditorium, with an estimated cost of €31.5 million and an 18‑month timeline.

Nearby, the Alcaidesa Marina Ocio complex is advancing toward an end‑2026 opening. The mixed‑use development will feature about 8,000 m² of retail space, 6,000 m² of dining and leisure areas, a 1,600 m² 24‑hour gym, and a nautical zone with a specialized shop and club. Tenants such as Jysk, Aldi, JD Sports and other retailers have been confirmed. The project is being delivered through a public‑private partnership involving the municipality of La Línea, the Bay of Algeciras Port Authority and the construction firm JARQUIL.
