Mélanie Page describes traumatic early modeling career

French actress Mélanie Page has spoken about her difficult early career in the modeling industry, describing the experience as “traumatizing” and “hated.” During an appearance on the Public Sénat program ‘Un monde, un regard’, the 50-year-old actress shared that she began modeling at age 17 with the Madison agency, starting at the same time as Laetitia Casta.

Page described a dehumanizing environment where models were treated without regard for their individuality. She noted that casting discussions often focused on physical traits and facial features in front of the models themselves, effectively ignoring the person behind the image.

Following her time in modeling, Page transitioned to theater and eventually achieved widespread recognition in the early 2000s through the television series ‘Sous le soleil’. She has also expanded her career into literature with her novel ‘Peaux à peaux’ and has faced online misogynistic criticism regarding her professional success in relation to her husband, Nagui.
