Mälarenergi and Vattenfall featured in new reality series Högspänning

The reality series ‘Högspänning’ with Erik Ekstrand is set to premiere on Viaplay and TV3 on October 14. The show follows employees from Mälarenergi and Vattenfall as they maintain Sweden’s critical infrastructure.

In the season premiere, distribution electrician Pierre Hedlund uses a helicopter to inspect the power grid following storm Dave. Near Kungsör, trees obstructing an overhead line are removed via controlled blasting. This is categorized as an ‘AMS-job’ (Arbete med spänning), meaning maintenance is performed while the electricity remains active to prevent customer outages.

The premiere also features Dennis Wahlberg and his colleague Joel, who respond to a ‘Prio 1’ emergency alarm at a combined heat and power plant in Västerås. The team performs urgent maintenance on a star screen shaft at boiler 7 to ensure the proper processing of return wood fuel.
