MLB legends host baseball clinic for schoolchildren in Mumbai

Former Major League Baseball (MLB) stars visited the Hansraj Morarji School in Mumbai to conduct a baseball clinic for local students. The session allowed children to participate in drills involving batting, catching, and pitching, introducing them to the sport in a region dominated by cricket.

Participants included former New York Yankees player Nick Swisher, former Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrián González, former Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta, former Boston Red Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes, and professional softball players Jordan Woolery and Rachel Garcia.

During media interactions, González noted the significant similarities between cricket and baseball, specifically regarding hand-eye coordination and bat-to-ball skills. He expressed optimism regarding India's potential to develop professional baseball talent. Additionally, the athletes highlighted the strong performance of female students and discussed the importance of expanding sporting opportunities for women in India.
