New York Yankees beat Rockies 6-1 behind Lombard's first career grand slam
The New York Yankees defeated the Colorado Rockies 6-1 at Yankee Stadium. Rookie shortstop George Lombard Jr. hit his first career grand slam in the third inning, becoming the second-youngest Yankee in history to achieve the feat, trailing only Mickey Mantle.
Other offensive contributors included Luis García Jr. and Cody Bellinger, who both hit solo home runs. Aaron Judge, playing in his second game since returning from a broken rib, went 2-for-4 with two singles. Yankees pitcher Will Warren earned the win, recording six innings with eight strikeouts and allowing only one run.
In separate MLB action, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Houston Astros 11-7, highlighted by a grand slam from Kyle Schwarber, which was his 44th home run of the season.
