MLB playoff race intensifies with seven weeks remaining

With seven weeks remaining in the MLB regular season, the playoff race is intensifying across both leagues. The Tampa Bay Rays have become the first team to reach 70 wins, leading the American League East ahead of the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.

In the American League, the West division remains highly competitive between the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, while the Central division is closely contested among the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Guardians, and Minnesota Twins.

In the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers lead the Central division, while the Atlanta Braves lead the East. The Los Angeles Dodgers currently hold the top position in the West. Significant battles continue for wild-card spots involving the Arizona Diamondbacks, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and San Diego Padres. Recent roster movements, such as the San Diego Padres adding Casey Mize and Robbie Ray to their rotation, aim to strengthen their postseason positioning.
