MLB Postseason: Guardians clinch division title as Riley powers Braves

The MLB postseason is underway, highlighted by key performances from the Cleveland Guardians and the Atlanta Braves.

The Cleveland Guardians secured their third consecutive AL Central title following a successful 2026 season. Pivotal moments included a series win against the Los Angeles Dodgers, fueled by home runs from Gabriel Arias and Jose Ramirez, and a dominant pitching performance by Gavin Williams. The Guardians also established early dominance in the division by sweeping the Detroit Tigers, finishing the season with a 10-3 record against them.

In the National League Wild Card Series, Austin Riley delivered a decisive three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to help the Atlanta Braves secure a 5-3 victory in Game 1. Riley’s home run, hit off Jhoan Duran, provided a critical boost for the Braves following a statistically challenging regular season.
