Məleykə Abbaszadə advises students on independent thinking

Məleykə Abbaszadə, Chairperson of the State Examination Center, addressed newly admitted first-year university students to offer advice and share personal experiences. Reflecting on her own time as a student at Moscow State University, she discussed the challenges of transitioning to university life, including managing independence, finances, and living away from family.

Abbaszadə emphasized that while modern students have unprecedented access to global lectures and scientific resources, they must remain cautious with emerging technologies. She specifically warned students regarding the use of artificial intelligence, stating, “Technology should not start thinking for you. Use artificial intelligence, but do not give it your most valuable skill — your ability to think independently.”

She further encouraged students to surround themselves with highly capable peers, to ask questions, and to admit when they do not know something. She noted that being able to change one's position when faced with stronger arguments is a vital skill to develop during university years.
