Mélisa Godet film La Maison des Femmes to release in Italy

The French film ‘La Maison des Femmes’ (La casa delle donne), directed by Mélisa Godet, is scheduled for release in Italian cinemas on October 29, 2026. The film is inspired by the real-life Maison des Femmes in Saint-Denis, a center near Paris dedicated to supporting women facing physical and psychological violence, including domestic abuse, forced marriages, and female genital mutilation.

The narrative follows Dr. Diane Khoury and her multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, psychologists, and social workers as they provide care and refuge to women in need. The story highlights the challenges of maintaining such a vital resource amidst dwindling government funding and the complexities of operating within a changing multicultural society.

A special preview of the film will be held in Senigallia at the Cinema Gabbiano on October 27, 2026, featuring actors Pierre Deladonchamps and Yves Marina Gnahoua.
