Müller slams Ancelotti after Brazil's World Cup exit

Former Brazil striker Müller harshly criticized head coach Carlo Ancelotti following Brazil's 2-1 defeat to Norway in the round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which was staged across the United States, Mexico and Canada. Müller said Ancelotti had sufficient time to implement his playing philosophy but failed to improve the team, calling him a "club coach, not a national‑team coach" and a "failure" in that role.

During the live broadcast "Seleção Estadão", Müller compared Ancelotti unfavorably with Thomas Tuchel, who led England to the semifinals after taking charge in late 2024. He argued that Tuchel demonstrated how a manager can succeed with a national side, whereas Ancelotti did not bring any noticeable change to Brazil's performance.
