MLS Decision Day 2026 concludes regular season

The 2026 Major League Soccer regular season concludes this Saturday with Decision Day, featuring 15 simultaneous matches. The final day will determine the remaining playoff seeding in the Eastern Conference and the final three postseason spots in the Western Conference.

In the West, six teams—LA Galaxy, Portland Timbers, Colorado Rapids, Seattle Sounders FC, Real Salt Lake, and Minnesota United FC—are competing for three available slots. In the East, while nine playoff teams are already qualified, the final seeding and home-field advantages for the first round remain to be decided.

Beyond playoff positioning, the day will also determine the winner of the Golden Boot award. This marks the final Decision Day under the league’s traditional spring-to-autumn calendar format. Starting in the 2027/28 season, the MLS will transition to a July-to-May schedule to align more closely with international football transfer windows and avoid competition with the NFL and college football seasons.
