MMRDA halts recruitment exam following irregularity allegations

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has paused its recruitment process for 235 Junior Engineer posts following allegations of irregularities in the examination results. The controversy arose after reports surfaced of unusually high scores, including three candidates achieving perfect marks of 200/200.

Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), called for a thorough investigation, noting that several toppers reportedly emerged from the same exam center and had previously failed to secure significant marks in other competitive examinations.

To address these concerns, the MMRDA has established a three-member special committee to review candidate objections and ensure transparency. The panel is chaired by former Maharashtra Chief Secretary Johny Joseph and includes professors Shyamprasad Kargade and Daska Satyanarayana Murthy from IIT Bombay.
