Mönchengladbach industrial site fires extinguished without injuries
On the morning of 5 August 2026, firefighters in Mönchengladbach responded to a blaze at an industrial complex on Siemensstraße. A grab excavator and a pile of waste ignited from an unknown cause. Crews used breathing apparatus, two high‑pressure hoses and a ladder‑platform to contain the fire, which was fully extinguished after about one and a half hours. No injuries were reported.
The following evening, 6 August 2026, a separate incident occurred on Wickrather Straße when a container of scrap material caught fire at a joinery workshop. The fire threatened a neighboring building but was quickly brought under control with foam application. Police blocked the street during the operation. Again, the incident concluded without any casualties.
Both incidents involved multiple fire‑and‑rescue units and were declared safely concluded after thorough after‑fire checks.
