Mönchengladbach sports clubs to receive 2.85 million euros for infrastructure

Sports clubs in Mönchengladbach are set to access 2.85 million euros in funding for infrastructure improvements. This allocation comes from the state-wide ‘Modern Sports Facilities North Rhine-Westphalia’ program. Due to high demand, with project sketches already totaling over six million euros, the Mönchengladbach City Sports Association has established a 50 percent funding rate and a cap of 800,000 euros per club annually to ensure a broad distribution of resources.

In a separate development regarding sports facility funding, the FC Tremmersdorf/Speinshart club is facing delays in renovating and expanding its clubhouse. Despite being allocated nearly half a million euros from federal funds, administrative formalities and the need for additional applications approved by the local council have postponed the start of construction, with work now potentially pushed to 2026.
