Mónica Castillo de la Rica appointed head of Tourism for Granada

Mónica Castillo de la Rica has been appointed as the new head of the Tourism Delegation for the Diputación de Granada. She will hold this position alongside her roles as first vice president and her responsibilities in Transparency, Human Resources, and Digital Transformation.

The appointment follows the departure of Marta Nievas, who has moved to a territorial delegation role for Social Services, Family, and Equality within the Junta de Andalucía in Granada. Francis Rodríguez, President of the Diputación de Granada, noted that Castillo de la Rica’s experience will ensure continuity in the province's tourism strategy through the Provincial Tourism Board.

Castillo de la Rica stated her intention to follow the established roadmap, focusing on promoting Granada’s diverse heritage, nature, and gastronomy to attract visitors year-round. A key strategic priority will include working to improve air connectivity at the Granada airport to expand markets and increase competitiveness.
