Mònica Doria finishes fourth in K1 kayak at European Championships
Andorran paddler Mònica Doria secured a fourth-place finish in the K1 kayak final at the European Slalom Championships in Ivrea, Italy. She finished just 1.68 seconds behind the winner, Klaudia Zwolinska of Poland, narrowly missing a podium spot.
Doria also competed in the C1 canoe category, where she entered as the defending European champion. However, a 50-second penalty incurred at gate 8 relegated her to 12th place in the final, preventing a title defense. The C1 gold was won by Great Britain’s Mallory Franklin.
Other regional athletes faced difficulties during the competition. Miquel Travé was eliminated in the C1 semifinals following four penalties, while Alex Segura finished seventh in his final.
