Mónica García assists in resuscitation of drowning man
Spanish Health Minister Mónica García assisted in the resuscitation of a man approximately 75 years old at a natural pool in Villafranca del Bierzo, León.
The incident occurred last Saturday near the Burbia River fluvial beach. Witnesses reported the man was unconscious and showing signs of drowning, such as discolored skin. García and other bystanders performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which successfully restored the man's consciousness.
Emergency services deployed a Sacyl helicopter to transport the individual to the Hospital de León. The man remains hospitalized, though his current condition has not been released. García was in the area on summer break at the time of the event.
